To open 2022, Emily Sara released Mismatch, her visual EP is composed of six songs:

Emily Sara felt like an outsider when she entered the unknown, college. but then she met like-minded people, learned about their stories, and made this EP with them. It is also influenced by her childhood which was filled with so many different artists and genres according to an interview she did with Indie Music Discovery.

Each song on this song constantly surprises, because it includes so many different genres, beats, instruments, and musicians. To illustrate, “Mirrors” is a spoken word piece. In addition, “Everything to me” feels like an old-time tune with a modern twist.

Each song also makes its audience feel so many emotions.

The last song, ‘Falling’, was written after I saw Afghan citizens on the news clinging to the wheels of airplanes as they took off.

This image stuck with her, so she found an outlet through this song. As well, she included a call to action for everyone to open their eyes.

When I listen to this song now, I think of all the new Ukrainian refugees and send strength and hope to them in their loss.

Mismatch includes a short film from Stretch Your Eyes Productions, her and another friend’s production company! This short film is written and directed by Emily Sara, produced by Emily Sara and Alex Quade, with cinematography by Alex Quade, and mixing and mastering by Nathan Glaser.
